This is a follow up story - 32-year-old Derrick Holt of Brookline Station was invlolved in a single vehicle collision on Farm Road 156 on Monday. The Missouri State Highway Patrol has confirmed in their report that the crash did involve alcohol.
According to crash reports Holt was operating a 2001 Ford Ranger and travelled off the left side of the roadway, overcorrected and travelled off the road again striking a tree. After the collision Holt was transproted to Cox South for treatment.
After further investigation it was determined that there was alcohol in Holt's system. The Missouri State Highway Patrol has charged Mr. Holt with DWI, driving while suspended, failure to register and no seat belt.
Holt has an extensive background in the Missouri court systems with multiple felony charges dating back to 2017. Among wich are tampering with a motor vehicle, for which he was sentenced to 6-years in the Missouri Department of Corrections (sentence was suspended - given probation) and several domestic assault and assault related cases.
