Barbara Jean Hennager, 89 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 8, 2025. She was born in Estherville, Iowa on December 21, 1935 the daughter of Lester T. and Virginia E. (Fredericksen) Jenson.
She was married and divorced from Paul Hennager. To this union three children were born, Pat Eugene Hennager, Theresa Ann Hennager, and Randy Dean Hennager.
She is also survived by her brother, Michael Joe Jenson of Springfield; her sister, Judy Ann Wright of Dumas, Texas; nieces and nephews, Linda Jenson Zenk, Debra Jenson Aikin, Holly Jenson Flinn, Dale Taylor, Joy Jenson Heastan, and Jon Jenson. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Sherwood Lester Jenson and David Lynn Jenson, and two nephews, Greg Taylor and Todd Jenson.
Barbara grew up on the family farm in Kossuth County, Iowa. She attended grade school at Seneca. She attended the Blakjer Luthern Church which her paternal grandparents were founding members of. The family moved to Lebanon, Missouri in 1948 and after a year moved to the Louisburg community. Barbara attended school at Louisburg High School and graduated from Buffalo High School in 1954.
After her divorce from Paul, Barbara resided in Springfield with her father then due to declining health and physical needs, Barbara has resided in an assisted living residential facility since 1987.
Barbara loved Elvis Presley, horses and her family. She was light hearted and full of love.
No formal visitation or service is planned, the family will have a private graveside at the Louisburg Christian Cemetery, Louisburg, Missouri. Arrangements are under the care of Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home.
